Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS)

At eMinds, we engineer Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) to create miniature, intelligent devices. Our research focuses on designing and fabricating novel micro-scale sensors and actuators. By integrating mechanical elements and electronics on a tiny chip, we develop next-generation technology for applications ranging from portable medical diagnostics to advanced environmental monitoring.

Biomedical Engineering

Our Biomedical Engineering research is dedicated to creating innovative technologies that directly impact human health. We focus on developing advanced diagnostic tools, including smart sensors and imaging systems for early disease detection. Our goal is to translate complex engineering concepts into practical, low-cost, and accessible medical devices that improve patient outcomes.

Biosensors & BioMEMS

We specialize in Biosensors and BioMEMS to detect biological molecules and processes at the micro-scale. This research involves creating highly sensitive and specific sensing platforms designed to identify biomarkers for diseases like cancer, monitor chronic health conditions, or ensure food and water safety. Our work aims to create portable, real-time diagnostic tools for point-of-care applications.

Chemical Sensors

The Chemical Sensors group at eMinds develops high-performance sensing systems for complex environments. We engineer advanced materials and "Electronic Nose" (eNose) technology to detect and identify trace amounts of gases and chemical compounds. These smart sensors have wide-ranging applications, from monitoring air and water quality to enhancing safety in industrial settings and advancing agricultural technology.

Ultrasonic Imaging

Our lab is advancing Ultrasonic Imaging by developing novel MEMS-based ultrasonic transducers. We aim to create low-cost, high-performance, and miniaturized imaging systems. This technology is being developed to provide new capabilities in medical diagnostics, offering safer and more accessible imaging tools for applications like early-stage cancer detection and real-time health monitoring.

Micro and Nano Fabrication Technology

Micro and Nano Fabrication Technology is the foundation of our work. This research area encompasses the processes and techniques we use to build our devices from the ground up. We leverage and explore state-of-the-art methods in cleanroom environments to pattern, deposit, and etch materials at the micro and nano-scale, enabling the creation of all our advanced sensors and systems.
